IPL auction 2011 updates : List of sold players

IPL (Indian Premier League) two-day auction 2011 has started on January 8th morning at Bangalore for bidding the world’s leading cricketers and for purchasing cricketers India’s rich or famous celebrities and business tycoons participate in this auction. From the 421 cricketers, total 350 cricketers have been listed in the IPL auction list. The list of cricket players is given below who sold out in IPL auction 2011 part 1.

Total 74 matches between ten teams will be played in to the IPL season 4. The owners of team will make money through entry charge, advertise, selling team memorabilia.

India’s celebrities and business tycoons such as flamboyant Vijay Mallya, actress Preity Zinta, the lissome Shilpa Shetty, Gayathri Reddy, Nita Ambani, N Srinivasan and ‘King of Bollywood’ Shah Rukh Khan or other representatives will be seen for their greatest bets in auction. Last three times Chairman and Commissioner, Lalit Modi is struggling for his various legal charges related IPL against him. So he will no longer be a part of the IPL auction 2011.

At 11:11 am, the IPL auction 2011 has began with strong bidding war for India’s opening batsman, Gautam Gambhir and he was sold out with highest-ever paid record of $2.4 million (Rs 11.04 crore) for Kolkata Knight Riders.

Another remarkable purchase, Yusuf Pathan also goes to the Shahrukh-Khan owned team Kolkata Knight Riders for $2.1 million (Rs 9.66 crore) and with same amount Robin Uthappa has been sold out for Sahara Pune Warriors.

Rohit Sharma has bought by Mumbai Indians with $2 million (Rs 9.2 crore). The injury-prone Irfan Pathan has been sold out at $1.9 million (Rs 8.74 crore) for Delhi Daredevils. Pune team has bought India's limited overs expert Yuvraj Singh for $1.8million.

Newest team, Kochi has also commenced in bid with $1.5 million (RS. 6.9 crore) reward to Sri Lankan player Mahela Jayawardene. But Sri Lanka’s team captain, Kumar Sangakkara was sold out at a lower rate of $700,000 (Rs 3.22 crore) for the team of Deccan Chargers. Under bid of $1.1 million, South Africa’s Jacques Kallis was bought for Kolkata Knight Riders, Australia's Cameron White for Deccan Chargers, and AB de Villiers for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Rajasthan Royals bought New Zealand's Ross Taylor for $1million that is notable bid.

Even completing first round, India’s former player Sourav Ganguly was not sold. First day of the auction concluded with 72 sold  players.
